The Belle Epoque Wedding Photography
A Quirky Spring Wedding In Cheshire with lovely John and Gaynor
As soon as I spoke with Gaynor and heard the emotion in her voice when she spoke about finding her soul mate, and their plans for their wedding day at The Belle Epoque, I knew it was going to be a wonderful wedding to photograph.
When the morning of the wedding came, and I arrived on a rather rainy spring morning to photograph the bridal prep in a lovely Knutsford bed and breakfast, I was instantly proven right. Lovely Gaynor, her daughter, and three bridemaids were all a little teary, nervous, excited (and giggly!) about the day that lay ahead. I love photographing the bride and her maids getting ready for this reason, it is such a precious and emotion-filled time of day.
The weather may not have been kind, but it did not matter one iota as the bride arrived the grande entrance to The Belle Epoque, the shiny wet cobbles led into the warm and welcoming Belle, where moments later it would be time for the wedding ceremony.
Gaynor made the unique, but to her, very important decision to walk up the aisle to her future husband, on her own. She had lots her dad years earlier, and strongly believed that nobody could take his place. So, she followed after her bridesmaids until the soft chandeliers and candlelight of the gothic feeling ceremony room, and as John awaited her arrival there was barely a dry eye to be seen.
As the vows were said, the time came to walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, a moment I love to capture. Then the celebrations of the day continued, with The Belle Epoque’s fabulous interior, and large open fires, it did not matter that the rain was still falling outside. Everyone was in the mood to celebrate love!
John and Gaynor had chosen to hire a magician to be a part of their day, and he had all the guests oohing and ahhing with his fabulous tricks! I love the emotions that magicians bring out in guests, no matter how young or old and Danny was no exception.
We took advantage of a break in the showers, to have a confetti moment in the cobbled streets outside The Belle Epoque, I don’t think that the traffic I stopped while I stood photographing in the middle of the road minded either, as they got a front seat to watch confetti throwing fun! The wedding day continued with more fun, tears and kisses, and it was an honour to be able to capture what was clearly a truly precious day for this gorgeous couple. Gaynor and John, you are made for one another, may you both enjoy a lifetime of adventures together xx
